Re: ROH to run MSG next year

They never intended to actually run. They knew WWE would do this, and thus granting them exposure and more legitimacy in fans minds if they "were going to run the Garden!" If WWE would have called their bluff and done nothing, this would never happen anyway. This - times a million. If they had a le...

Re: ROH to run MSG next year

Maybe they're doing it for the publicity more than anything else? Yeah, I'm skeptical that a main-arena MSG show actually happens - not only for the reasons I've stated in this thread, but common sense tells me that if you were going to drop that bombshell announcement and it was legit, you'd think...

Re: ROH to run MSG next year

That would make the most sense, but the article clearly implies (but doesn't outright state) that they're talking about the main MSG arena.

Re: ROH to run MSG next year

There's probably a reason why WWE runs a ton of TV and PPV stuff in Barclays every year, and hasn't run a Raw, Smackdown, or PPV in MSG since 2011, and I think the origination fee is likely the culprit. And if it's not profitable for WWE to run the Garden, it's probably a lot less profitable for any...

Re: ROH to run MSG next year

I would love to see it, but honestly I'll believe it when I see a specific date and tickets go on sale. Apparently the big hang-up for WWE is that MSG now charges a HUGE "origination fee" if you want to televise or stream your event, which is why we haven't seen a PPV or TV taping in a long time the...

I think the only voice actor they would book that would get me there would be Sue Blu.

Re: Shohei Ohtani out till 2020

Japanese pitchers have sooooo much more mileage on their arms from the way the pitch in those leagues, to the point where few/none have long term effective careers in MLB. Best case you hope to have short-term success before they hit the wall physically and you have to eat the back end of their cont...

Re: "The Latest Trailers" Thread

New Halloween trailer:

I think overall it looks pretty good, and I think they nailed the Myers character, but making the Laurie Strode character into a tough badass doesn't entirely ring true to me, but I'm sure I'll see it opening weekend.

Re: Legends Of The Ring 26 ( June 9th, 2018)

Then why hold a public signing? How can they be "sold out?" This entire thing is ridiculous. It's called presales. How about let me run my business. Thanks. What's gonna be worth more money to a collector in 40 years? 8x10s, cards, and belts signed that millions were made? Or a signed flamingo that...

Re: Legends Of The Ring 26 ( June 9th, 2018)

Yeah, I can see being picky and choosy about what you sign if you're an A-lister, or if people are asking you on the street, but for a non-headlining wrestler in a paid setting, I don't get why they wouldn't sign any item under any gimmick name the customer asks. I mean yeah, it's not very likely th...

Re: Former ECW and CZW wrestler Rockin Rebel killed wife then self

Yeah, personally I'm going to hold back on making any personal judgments until the murderer/victim roles get confirmed, but as you said, tragic either way. I never saw him during his ECW run, but anybody who was into the northeast indy scene in the early 2000's probably saw him a lot - he had runs i...

Steve Dash (offering Jason costume ops) and Cassandra Peterson added.

So once again, Hunt Valley is booked simply as the "leftovers" show, repeating people who were literally just in Cherry Hill.

Re: Can the hobby go too far?

I think the answer to "Can the hobby go too far?" is "unequivocally yes." You can spend THOUSANDS of dollars every single year, waste hundreds of hours waiting for celebrities that may or may not stop for you...and all of that can rob you of a more robust social life. Like any obsession/addiction, ...
