Re: Starrcast 2, Las Vegas (May 23-26, 2019)

It amazes me that wrestling still attracts grifter pieces of shit like Conrad Thompson.

Re: ULTMO DRAGON & JUN AKIYAMA PWR MARCH 9 SAN FRANCISCO

Akiyama's first US appearance ever in the USA and it's in San Francisco. If I was still collecting I would be pissed, but it's still pretty goddamn annoying.

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

The bigger problem is, where is the incoming revenue going to come from? If they go a traditional PPV route, you have NJPW and WWE giving you their entire library for ten bucks a month, so are people in large numbers going to pay $20+ anymore for a single wrestling PPV? They don't have an existing ...

Re: The Blu Rays you recently purchased thread

By the way, anything marketed as "Ultra HD" or "UHD" means it supports HDR automatically. It's part of that UHD standard.

Re: The Blu Rays you recently purchased thread

All except the cheapest 4K tv's since 2016 support HDR. The key is to buy one that supports Dolby Vision AND HDR, since Netflix uses Dolby Vision. You also want a TV that can pass HDR and Dolby Vision over ARC/CEC. In many 4K TVs I don't see HDR written. Then you are either looking at the cheapest ...

Also I believe one should gun for an HDR TV as opposed to 4K Ultra HD TV

Re: The Blu Rays you recently purchased thread

Newer TVs looking better has nothing at all to do with 4K resolution. Many new TVs use FALD vs edge-lit LCD tech, which greatly improves color depth and black levels. There are also other technological improvements that have occurred in screen tech in the past few years, almost none of which has to ...

Re: The Blu Rays you recently purchased thread

You switched from talking about blockbuster 4K discs to obscure cartoon DVDs. Buying rare stuff or stuff that has the potential to go out of print makes some sense, logically (if one is into watching old cartoons, I suppose). My original post was about buying new release UHD discs, which is just a w...

Re: The Blu Rays you recently purchased thread

Even if that's true, there are still inevitable re-releases and price reductions. Almost everything (aside from some stuff that might go OOP) will either drop in price or get re-released. There is literally no reason to buy 4K discs without a player and a TV. It's not like blu-ray where they are re...

Re: The Blu Rays you recently purchased thread

Why buy the 4K discs when they will surely either be re-released or decrease in price by the time you get a good 4K tv? I'm buying fairly low price. Not rushing Even if that's true, there are still inevitable re-releases and price reductions. Almost everything (aside from some stuff that might go O...

Re: What do you guys do with all your autographs?

I have those Itoya art folders in 8x10, 11x14, and 11x17 varieties, and flats are in there. I have some stuff framed but not much. Plus a few small shelves with books and dvds. In reality my autograph collection pales in comparison to my video game collection, aka my first love. How is your video g...

I've sold off most of my figure and belt collection. Posters and rest of the figures are in storage.
