Gotham contingent is stale, wont see me there. Thank god RICC booked Dolph, because this con never was.

There was a tweet from HVFF that alluded to Brandon Routh coming, as well as other names being announced. I'm not really sure why they haven't announced many people for this con or keep saying that they will add guests, but haven't. It is a month away and I'm feeling like I will see all the guests in 1 day, even though I have the VIP pass for the whole weekend. Thankfully I split the BOGO VIP with a friend, but it's still very expensive for 1 day for a convention.

Well, the bulk of their fanbase, proven by the Saturday sell-out, are repeat visitors. Similar to Creation Trek, SPN, etc, they show up every year, and spend $$$. Most of us do not relate, but there you go. We know for a fact there's a Chiller fan contingent who would LOVE if they booked the same hasbeens every show.

At this point, I can't even fathom going. I am not going all the way to NJ for Brandon Routh.

I was wondering why they said there was a Saturday sell out, especially with only a few guests announced. Thank you for clarifying that, Greg. I had gone last year and had a great time and I wanted to see if there were any new guests to meet this year. Even though the list at this point is small, I'm excited to meet Ming-Na Wen (who I know best from ER because I haven't seen AoS yet) and Robbie, who I have not had the chance to meet. I hope there will be more guests added, but who knows at this point. I live close enough to the venue that I wouldn't consider it a complete waste of a weekend.

Exactly. Majority of people, like myself, are not interested in fresh names. We want our favorites. But even THIS is too much for me. Its like the same lineup, MINUS a few names with no real additions. If Routh is added, then I would say there are 2 maybe 3.

Creation fans are even crazier. There are people buying the gold package that dont want the autographs, they just want to have the best seat as possible for the panels. Gold is $499. If you want guaranteed first row for panels, they have a gold for that...$900. That only includes the exclusive right to be in the first row.

I guess when I feel horrible for spending money on an expensive photo op I can think of people spending $500 just for guaranteed first row at a panel

Its so sick. Im all for people buying what makes them happy. But I cant see how a 30 minute panel...WHERE YOU CANT ASK QUESTIONS...is worth it. They place a box outside and you can write down questions. The moderator will go through them and choose which questions to ask, if any.
