Looks like those with Evans getting boned hard today. He’s sick and they may be SOL

Yup. If he’s out the full day, they need to be quick with the partial refunds or I’ll just dispute the full amount with my bank

By how things went today, I think over 50% chance that this is the last ACE con

Between the sounds of things and Philly 2016, I'd say there's a 99.99% of never seeing Chris Evans at another con.

I really hope someone here posts a report, as I'm very curious what went down. I feared the AZ show would be more make or break for them than NY was.

Comic book fan Charles Baca took a select number of comic books to ACE Comic Con in Glendale, Arizona over the weekend, only to find them stolen, along with the tickets he had bought to get them signed by Stan Lee.

They included Avengers #2, The Incredible Hulk #5 and The Amazing Spider-Man #8 from the sixties, worth according to Baca, around $5000. A ticket for an autograph by Stan Lee at Ace Comic Con was $150 each. Two of them Baca had owned for twenty years.

Charles Baca had the comic in a box inside a bag, which he set down at his feet while looking through comics at one of the vendors there, only to discover that someone had stolen it. He said he told security about it and they filed a report but have had no luck in identifying of finding the thief. Big shows usually have CCTV systems for just such an eventuality, but that seems not to have worked in this case.

One thing you all might be forgetting are the private signings. These were the very reason to have the cons in the first place. Now, I could be wrong, but most conventions like RICC, NYCC, Wizard, etc., either do not allow or simply elect not to offer private/hotel signings. At most they did short ones just for the con, which the Shamus bros. got into hot water with Wizard for. At Long Island, I heard people were dropping FIVE figures on the private stuff, if true. Now obviously you're not going to entice much in the way of 4 or 5-figure signings unless you have mega-names, so that's part of it too.

I should hopefully have mine up by tomorrow.

Outside of Evans cancelling( either sick or hungover was what I kept hearing). I had no problem getting autographs or photos done.
The redemption of photo ops though seemed to be a mess as it spilling out on the vendor floor. Same with the line to get into the photo op area

The logistics will always suck because they have these in a basketball arena. If Evans was simply hung over, wow!

The only good thing about these being in an arena is that for autographs you get to sit instead of standing in those cattle lines. But other than that the arenas are annoying
