I partially agree with this take.oldschoolwwwf wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2018, 10:47 amPeople place way too much emphasis on this stuff. It’s only a convention- they spend every day searching for new announcements and every second whining that there hasn’t been a new guest announced. There are plenty of people announced. If you aren’t happy with it, don’t go. And don’t pre buy tickets again. Then you won’t have a problem.
I think certain conventions will always have certain expectations attached to them - fair or unfair.
The members of this board are a niche group of collectors who have been attending these shows for years, if not decades. Your particular "wants" or "needs" are different from the vast majority of people attending these shows.
Take a gander at the Big Event thread. Bret Hart has been to a billion wrestling conventions over the years and most of us have him That being said, though, you can't deny that Hart is a major, major draw for any wrestling convention and he will do excellent business for Big event (yet again).
So, I think board members often have unrealistic expectations and don't particularly care about the reasons why Person A isn't booked while Person Z has been booked for the millionth time.
That being said:
It sounds like this convention is a disaster and it would be hard not to feel disappointed by this lineup, especially when you see the same promoters bringing in better guests for their upcoming shows.
