Similar to the last huge UFC name they book, does zero for me, and probably most of the wrestling die hards. Where's :jawdrop:
Ok, does this mean that bringing in this guy knocks out the money they could use for Hogan??? If so, :holy:

Liddell's a really strong name though I get why people would be disappointed.

Objectively, though, great name and I don't plan on getting him
Right, but Mike Tyson is far bigger and did no business there. This is a PRO WRESTLING crowd.
Mike Tyson didn't draw at that one big event he was at? At least he was a celebrity inductee in the hof. So it's kind of surprising if he didn't.

From what I understand, and I took this with a grain of salt, Ortiz did solid business for them. If that's the case, I don't blame them for booking Liddell.

Realistically, I'm not sure who else they can get at a reasonable price. If they brought in, say, Stone Cold Steve Austin...how many of you are paying $200 for an autograph or photo op? $300-$350 for VIP? How about nearly 1K for VIP?

They also flatout said that Batista costs $40,000 to bring in. Let's say they bring him in...how much of that $40K are they making back? Probably not a whole lot (if any). Undertaker is expensive as hell, too.

They brought in Bruno Sammartino and Goldberg, two rare names that hadn't done a whole lot beforehand. There's just not that many "headlining" type guests out there. A lot of people want Hogan but he's expensive and they may not have the room to book him.

While I agree with what you're saying, personally I think someone like Stonecold would do well even at 350. And more people would come to Big Event that normally wouldn't and spend on names that have been there before

I understand Trish Stratus costs $20,000 to bring in. She has never done Big Event before. Is it possible they don't bring her in now that they got Liddell?

Btw if Tito did good business at Big Event I think Chuck should too. He was a bigger name than Tito and destroyed him twice.

You've been to the Big Event. Can you imagine the chaos it would be if Stone Cold were booked there? Besides, I don't think most people would pay the $$$ to meet Austin. They've floated that price for a few years and people have always commented very negatively on that idea.

Hogan's pricey though I'm not sure why he hasn't been brought back. It could be that his price has gone way up after all of his legal issues.

This shows the logic of wrestling fans. The same people that would reject $350 for Stonecold probably pay twice that for photo/autos on repeats over 1-2 shows.

Personally, he could be $50 I wouldn't pay as I have him. So I'm not looking for anyone to bring him.

I hear ya but that's just how it goes. You know what does tremendous business for these cons? Fucking action figures. Mattel keeps making new action figures, so collector's need to get them signed, thus repeated business. I have a shit ton of programs -- those are my action figures. I love getting signatures in them, so I often do repeat business but I also get plenty of fresh names.

If Austin was booked, I'd save the dough to meet him but bye-bye getting anyone else.

I wouldn't pay 350 for an Austin combo. Maybe $200.

Does Austin even do Wrestlecon? I see him along with Taker, not a fan of cons. Doesn't need the money. Hogan on the other hand I think CAN use the money.

No Austin doesn't do wrestlecon. Owner of highspots told me he offered Steve a fortune and was denied.

I was told one year by someone reliable that Big Event was trying hard for Austin and, the way it was described to me, I bought a figure for him to sign because thought it was going to happen.

I doubt they were even close. Again, it's a nice little convention, but they've never gotten someone who has been untouchable at other wrestling cons. Those guys can't go spend 75-100K on one person to bring in, that's crazy. Has to be a Flair or Hogan or Hart or Michaels who has a lower number. Those guys WANT to do signings. Austin, Taker, Rock (before exploding), they don't or don't need to.
