Depp needs money, he spends millions on his lifestyle. He's never done a con, not even a panel before I believe. He is starting another vampire tour but last listed date is July 8 in Rome.

I never would have expected Ford to have an appearance fee. He's an enormous pain even for Official Pix to get for private signings. Why would he do this? Downey I'm sure has a number, but he's uber rich now, and he's not a great ppl person.

I'll say Depp. Needs money, doesn't hate fan interaction, did meet and greets on his tour, etc. He fits

There is literally nobody that would get me on a plane across the pond. Financially I can't do a London trip the right way at this point in time, and I wouldn't go over there to just get a photo and leave. Too much money, too much headache, and too many ways I'd rather spend the money.

With all of that said, Harrison Ford would be tempting, but still no.

Totally agreed. The hobby is great, but traveling to England for a photo? No way.

You'd have to buy refundable flight, hotel, whatever, and if the A-lister cancels you're just out the admission.

If I were to go, I would go for a week to do the trip since I’ve always wanted to go to London and just visit the con for one day

Absolutely, but it's extremely expensive over there, and you really have to do good research and probably stay on the outskirts. Not sure I could go, and NOT plan a Liverpool excursion myself.

Yeah, if I was working full time and had the cash to burn, I'd totally be open to a 7-10 day trip, that includes one day getting whoever this mystery name is. London is totally on my wish list travel wise. As I stand now though, if I'm going on a trip before getting hired somewhere, which wouldn't even be the wisest move, I won't be blowing the cash on a solo hobby trip.

My guess is Depp too, but with Arnold off my list, I don't think there's any name that fits their hints that I'd even think about flying overseas for. And as others have said, the timing isn't good to make a "real" trip to London out of it, and I can't imagine flying over there, getting one name, then hopping right back on a plane. Even for me, that's nuts.

So let's see the guesses

First we have the most logical

Harrison Ford
Robert Downy Jr

From a con perspective those make the most sense especially since lots of con only fans have Star Wars and Avengers Projects missing these two names. Both have done private paid signings and have been available to do cons at high prices.

Logical but don't fit the hints as well

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Johnny Depp

Those two are realistic legendary names that could do a con. Depp needs money and has done paid m&gs, and Arnold has done private signings and like Ford and Downy has been available to do cons at high prices.

Unlikely but plausible

Sean Connery

Of all those Sean Connery is the only one that would make me sign up for a new credit card as I have the rest. Robert Downy I could use an upgrade but it's a get if there upgrade. So the line up would have to be almost as good as last year's.

The "to complete their collection" hint is vague, but if taken literally, con-only fans would still need James Earl Jones and Frank Oz on SW stuff, and would still need Scarlet on their Avengers stuff, at a minimum.

I think Arnold and Depp are at least as likely as RDJ and Ford, if not moreso. All fit the hints, but Depp is the only one who "needs" cash, and I'm sure Ford probably turned down Celebration's big money on multiple occasions, so he likely just doesn't want to do it.

The con definitely got everybody's attention though with this announcement, that's for sure. With names like these being guessed, they better not drop the ball - they set the bar pretty damn high.

Wouldn't discount Oz or Jones, no. Ironically when Class and I met Frank Oz, he asked us a lot of questions about conventions. He's known to dislike promotional work, but he did Star Wars Weekends for years. He actually thought that qualified as a con before I educated him, ha ha.

It is Kurt Russell. Now let's move on ( yeah , i really don't know), but would be thrilled with OZ being he is on a new promotion for his movie

Of those you mentioned only JEJ comes close to the caliber of the other names and he has never done a single private signing or any kind of public appearance. That combined with his old age and less than ideal health makes Sean Connery much more likely (to my knowledge Sean lives in the UK).

Agreed
