I'd love for it to be one of the feature names mentioned by many, but I still think it's going to be Eccleston just because of the location

That's a good name but based on their hype it would be such a let down

Announcement is supposed to be 7:00, which I assume will be London time, which would be 2:00 eastern. If nothing else, they've certainly created a lot of buzz for their show with this tease.

Eccleston is doing Macbeth on stage through September. While its not scheduled that Friday and Sunday, it is Saturday. So I think it would be unlikely to be him.

It's not him. And yes, 2pm Eastern AJ. As for who this is, I wouldn't rule out WOODMO's pessimism.

Still big for nerd culture and that area, but I definitely didn't see it being a true icon

As is the case with most "Announcement about making a future announcement" spots from cons, if they had just announced Eccleston out of the blue with no hype, it would have been better received than having people guessing Ford, Depp, Arnold, etc. for several days and raising the bar of expectations to an unreachable level.

I'm sure he'll draw well and that's all that matters on their end, but as far as living up to the hype they set, it was an epic fail.

I would love to get him for The Leftovers. Also, zero chance this is his "only convention." Hilarious.

Agreed. That's a fantastic con name. But they destroyed the announcement with their own hype.

You're both wrong. They picked up a ton of people who never heard of the LFCC, and now they do. No such thing as bad publicity.

OOF!

Dr. Who is GIGANTIC in the UK so his announcement means more to them than it would to us. In that respect it's still a great get for the convention, but yes, incredibly underwhelming given the clues. For a show that really does deliver on guests (check out past lineups!) they dropped the ball on this announcement.
