You've actually seen these guys wrestle? I barely did.
It’s weird that you make comments about old school or rare wrestling names but you I’ve seen you meet more rare or obscure movie or tv names. What’s the difference?
This is an excellent point. There's hardly any difference in us wanting to meet "obscure" wrestling names and other people on this board paying good money to meet Boy #4 from some horror flick.

Difference is I'm older, and grew up with those ppl, their movies and TV shows. Sure, yeah, Jaws was before my time, but that's an iconic film. NWA? That wasn't even on TV up in these parts back then. I was a wrestling fanatic back then, and I either never heard of these guys, or are they were jobbers none of us cared about. Not for nothing, but I wouldn't watch 1980's NWA (not involving Ric Flair) with a gun to my head. I'm begging for Rick Martel, and we get these ham and eggers, again and again.

To each their own I guess. I love the “ham and eggers” you speak of. They keep me going to the shows.

Without question. I'd probably stop coming to these shows if vendors like Captain's Corner never brought in these guests.

Same here. Before wrestling was a cartoon / circus with the WWF, it was portrayed as a sport. There were close to 30 territories across the United States alone, including the WWF in NYC. How anyone could prefer the cartoonish portrayals of the Junkyard Dog, Ted DiBiase, Koko B. Ware, etc., over Mid-South, Crockett / NWA, AWA, World Class, Portland and other promotions is beyond me. To each their own, but how many times does anyone need to meet Bret Hart and the 60 other WWF wrestlers who are at every other convention or close? I meet 95% of these wrestlers one time only (and pass on lots of them too). I literally go at this point for the ones I still can use for my collection, if there are any booked. There are upwards of 200 wrestlers remaining on my want list.

It depends on what I need. This past LOTR, I mostly stuck to guests I met for the first time (Tyson Kidd, Dominic DeNucci, Mario Mancini, Johnny Roddz, James Ellsworth, Damian 666, Bestia 666, Jose Luis Rivera, Paul Ellering, Steven Regal, Scotty Casey, Kelly Klein, and Emma). The other repeats were either part of the Superticket or names I wanted to finish up on in the Encyclopedia.

If it wasn't for those first time guests and it was a convention filled with repeats....I'd likely pass. There's only so many times I would pay to meet someone.

Idk about that. I'm getting to the point where repeats aren't worth it anymore. I usually wait to get repeats when they appear at the Wrestling Universe because it's MUCH more cost-effective.

Eh travel is not that costly. I'd still save -- and it's still cheaper driving there or taking the train vs. spending the night for big event/lotr. Less stressful, too.
