Should we have thread "Hall of Fame" section?
markedout.com HOF subsection
CMshowstopper came up with that idea a couple of months ago and his posts were deleted due to feuding. But I got the chance to read CM's post and I thought it was a pretty good idea.
And when I came face to face with Chris Collector last December (ref: http://forum.markedout.com/viewtopic.ph ... 19#p206719 ) I was in awe and it made my realize "damn, there really should be a section honoring former markedout.com legends"
So I suggest there should be a subsection to this very section entitled "markedout.com Hall of Fame" and in that section there could be a thread for every inductee (perhaps started by mod). And that thread could have content such as a photo of the person, a brief bio, reasons as to why this person is an inductee, a link to their profile if available, and a "where are they know" if known.
Current board members could even leave comments (ie replies) on their personal memories of said inductee.
For the first round of inductees I suggest Chris Collector, Lucas, Captain Kangaroo, John Sig, Carlucci, and The Mooch.
Remember, without the Chris Collectors and Sigs of the world to jump start this board, you would not have the Joreskys and the HeelOrtons

Whats the point? These people dont post or lurk and want nothing to do with the board
Re: markedout.com HOF subsection
That's the whole point, "in memoriam" type of thing. People have memorials for dead people. This is almost the same thing.lanza218 wrote:Whats the point? These people dont post or lurk and want nothing to do with the board
They are "dead" to the board but their legacy lives on in some shape or form (something I realized when I came face to face with Chris Collector).

I have no interest honoring people who want nothing to do with the site presently. We have year end awards each and every year to honor the people who contribute in the present, those that chose to stop coming here can go fuck themselves.
I also don't think anything ANY of us do requires celebration in a HOF sense. We just take photos with celebrities, we aren't celebrities ourselves. I feel like that distinction is lost on many people.

Re: markedout.com HOF subsection
Considering how the voting for that is fucking fraudulent.....the fun idea for the HOF is no longer fun. Just like the end of year awards, it was something to just have fun with and review the year. Instead it has now become a sham because some people decided to take all the fun out of it like it was life or death that they win or dont win certain categories.WOODMO wrote:I have no interest honoring people who want nothing to do with the site presently. Preventative measures will be taken in the future to prevent any possible fraudulent voting.

Should we have thread "Hall of Fame" section?
Should we have a separate section that collects some of the most epic threads in one section?
We would exclude any reports from that section or any threads that can be expanded (such as behind the scenes or pre digital age stuff)
Some examples could be my excellent adventure with Joresky, RF/Ott/Piper, ditching mooching plans with Joresky, to name some.
