You mock, but yes it was! It sparked major outrage when it was censored for the DVD, and when this was announced for blu ray fans everywhere were praying that the scene would be restored. Now everyone is ecstatic.

Having old cartoons (be it Disney, Warner Bros, Walter Lantz, MGM, etc etc) in their original uncensored form is the wet fantasy and demand of movie/cartoon fans everywhere.

Personally, I hate cigarettes and smoking with a passion. You won't find very many people more anti-smoking than me. Yet I loath censorship of cigarettes and smoking in cartoons.

One another notable incident of cigarette/smoking censorship in Disney was in the Pecos Bill segment of the Melody Time DVD. He had a cigarette in basically every scene and it was digitally removed. In one scene he lit a cigarette with a lightning rod so that was cut entirely. I actually bought the R2 UK DVD years ago which features that segment completely un altered.

However, the fact that this blu ray restored Goofy smoking elevates my hopes of an uncensored Melody Time blu ray :like:

I bought the Disney Movie Club exclusive Two in one blu ray of the Disney feature length films Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros

The Saludos Amigos release is partiuclarly significant because a scene where Goofy smokes was censored off the DVD release: https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=1996

Obviously a lot of people are ecstatic now that it's released as originally made on blu ray, marking the first uncensored release of this since the laserdisc.

Last time I placed a Disney Movie Club order was for the Disney Treasures set in 2005 so it was good to put my membership to use again.
Disney are apparently pleased with how well this blu ray set did. Hopefully this encourages them to release more stuff uncensored.

It's explained in the link I provided from movie-censorship.

Well I finally plunged into purchasing 4K, even though I don't have a 4K player or TV.

I bought

Predator
Bram Stoker's Dracula

Both versions also contain the regular blu, though in the case of Predator the blu disc is a DNR nightmare.

Before long everything will be standard 4K (TV, players, discs). Dracula is horrible.

Agreed.

I hope to one day buy Bladerunner Final Cut in 4K once that gets cheaper. From what I read online it's pretty mind blowing. But I will still keep my multi disc blu ray release because those have the original US and European theatrical cuts.

Strangely enough 4K releases don't have region coding like its predecessors.
Dracula is horrible.
Why do you say that it's a classic starring Gary Oldman. 4K review: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Bram-Sto ... ay/171527/
