The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
I gave up all hope of sensibilities with the time remnant explanation. That was lame and a cheap shot.

Another unecessary episode. Instead of waiting for Season 3 and possibly building an arc on him losing powers we get him talking to the speed force....like come on....close to giving up but too late in the game now. Lets get the man in the iron mask out of the way and get to season 3

Totally agreed. Another out of place episode. Losing his speed could have been a major storyline that got turned into a 2 episode shotgun.lanza218 wrote:Another unecessary episode. Holy crap Barry changed all of history now. How are they gonna handle that?

So once basically the 1st 2 seasons are a waste lol. I hate the move, as the first episodes of the new season will basically be like Season 1. I jus invested 40+ episodes and now have to reinvest allll my time again into characters who are nothing like the ones ive known to like? Opens the door for EVERYONE to return. Blah blah. Idk. Actually hate the ending and hate man in the mask reveal.
Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
Well they could do a Flashpoint type story where everything goes to crap back in the present time and then he restores things to normal after 1 or 2 episodes. If they change Flash they change Arrow and LOT so I doubt they'll do that.lanza218 wrote:So once basically the 1st 2 seasons are a waste lol. As for the mask reveal, it sure made me feel ancient. It was essentially on homage to the old Flash TV show.

Yep. Which was cool but pretty pointless IMO. And I also read about Flashpoint but if that IS the direction he basically has to kill his own mother and would make for a boring season

From himself though. Essentially killing his mother. Which yes not technically but will be a story arc

Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
Hated the finale.
I was sort of right about the identity of the man in the mask. I said it was Henry Allen...turns out the guy only LOOKS like Henry Allen. I'll take it. I think it is a homage to the old Flash series and a way to keep JWS on the show. Its funny cuz the writers said from jump street that JWS would NOT be Jay Garrick, as that was the rumor when he announced he would be on the show. I would have preferred JWS to play a double role though, cuz I dont like the dynamic between Barry and Jay.
This whole time remnant shit doesnt make sense. How can the time remnant, from the past, die in the present and not cause the present version and future version to die too? I understand its tv....but a short explanation from the writers would be good.
Barry saving his mom is ABSOLUTELY understandable, especially following the loss of his father. HOWEVER, for the show....he has essentially erased the past 2 seasons of Flash and all of Central City's history. If there is no Flash, then Ronnie Raymond is not dead and Firestorm can return. So maybe not all is bad. LOL!
Seriously though, the timeline has forever been changed and altered. We saw the Barry who passed up on the chance to change history just dissappear. So wont the Barry who saved his mom, also lose his Flash ability? Thus changing the entire course of history. How would Jax remain Firestorm on LOT? That means Vandal Savage isnt dead. That means so much will change across the entire CW DC platform. Does that mean Oliver goes back to his old GA gear without his mask?

Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
Oh and how would Barry go back to stop Barry from saving his mom? That Barry isnt the Flash. The timeline has been changed.
Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
Exactly. All of this and more. So damn agravating. I might give up on the show in the 3rd season if this continues

Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
Obviously Barry will grow up and still somehow become the Flash. The world that barry created by saving his mother will obviously be a f'ed up world and Barry will somehow become aware that this is not how the world should be..whether he winds up with memories of how things were or finds out some other way..he will have to figure out a way to go back into the past to prevent the Flash from saving his mother. Yes, for the beginning of the season, the last two seasons will be 'erased" but the point will be that Barry will have to go back somehow and right his wrong so that things can go back to the way they should have. Harrison Wells will not have been killed by Thawne so he will probably be help Barry, as well as others..
I'm going to guess that Arrow is not affected by this, or any of the other shows..That they will exist outside this particular reality in which Barry has changed the past..and then once he changes the past back to how it should have been, Arrow will just be as it was..

Re: The Flash. Talkback with Spoilers
I enjoyed the episode until the end. The Joe/Barry relationship has been my favorite one since the first episode. Now they're essentially strangers. I imagine like has been said before it will be undone and things will go back to normal with him unsaving his mother. But I personally loved his picking the life and people in it last season and letting his mother die. That was one of the best season finales I've ever seen, but now feels diluted.
