Past few years (more so 2014) has been a sucky year for music.
Hell, even the new Weird Al album sucked bad because the songs he's parodying suck! If songs suck so bad Weird Al can't even make them good, that's saying something
And I don't even think it's the "grandfather effect" in place because I've even had people in their early 20s tell me the older songs sound better than the current ones.
