Hoodie Allen

Post by cmshowstopper » July 5th, 2015, 12:14 am

Got stuck going to the Fall Out Boy concert and a guy I had never heard of, Hoodie Allen, opened. Dude was pretty damn good. By far best act of the night and thats coming from someone who despises rap music. Really enjoyed his lyrics. I went home to check out more music and was even more impressed. Impressed enough to go out and buy his album today. I know Woodmo is a big fan. How'd you hear about this guy and do you have some favorite songs of his?

1. A person who doesn't enjoy or can't even respect Eminem has NO say in what constitutes good hip-hop. It's like a vegan talking about the best steak. Their opinion holds no weight. :cop:

2. If you had paid attention on multiple occasions, Hoodie is an NYC boy. Thus local for Woody. :thrilled:

3. You were clearly toking on that Wiz shit as you opted to attend a show with the same weirdo that just cockblocked you a week before.

4. FOB owned the show as expected. :1distraught:

Yup, Hoodie grew up on Long Island and got his start in the NYC scene. I believe I came across a YouTube video of his about 3-4 years ago.

I will post some of my favorite songs, but I will exclude his recent album since I saw on Facebook you already bought that.

1. I cant discount this point. You are a 1000% correct. But anyone who thinks what Brooke Hogan produces is good music has NO say in what constitutes good music. Its like a deaf man talking about good music. Their opinion holds no weight. :smirk:

2. Yes. I am quite aware that Hoodie is local to NYC. Relevance?

3. Weirdo who cockblocked me? While he did in fact cock block me, he is still my friend. Not exactly sure how going to a concert with him is a bad thing. I was helping a friend out. He had tickets and his girl bailed on him. He had no one else to go and I helped him out. AND....he didnt feel the need to run to marked out and talk shit about me. :like:

4. FOB.....bwahahahah! You do love your top 40 radio. I am about fell out of chair when I heard them say they looked out into the crowd and saw a bunch of people that just didnt "belong" and thats who they make music for. The only people I saw were a bunch of preppie socialites, teeny boppers and DJ. That crowd left FOB LONG AGO. They sold out for a shiny quarter and a better car. And there is nothing wrong with that. I wish every band that produces great music to eventually hit it big. But with that comes sacrificing of music. FOB did just that. They make music for the radio....not for their fans. All I ask is....dont pretend.

Woody....my 2 favorites are No Interruption and No Faith In Brooklyn.

Completely agree anyone thinking Brooke Hogan produces good music has no right to state what good music is. Dunno why you think think this is an insult though.

I havent listened to top 40 radio in easily 5-10 years. Unlike you who constantly needs it on while driving.

Brooklyn is so far the only solid song I've found. About 6 songs in to searching

Oh I dont know...the cds you own, the concerts you have gone too.... :smh:

Clearly you listen to top 40 A LOT. FOB, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars....3 of your most recent concerts.

Brooklyn is probably my 2nd favorite behind No Interruptions.
