This was just about a year going, and this is still the butt of jokes whenever he is announced for a con. I am proud!
Re: WWE Wrestling Underground (I found Virgil in the Subway)
Virgil has been routinely lambasted on satrad (Opie & Anthony producer Sam Roberts is a wrestling nut) for his scheme. The stories we all know are quite funny, how he tries to trick people into paying him half the time. The problem he has is that he was half-way popular from ONE small period of time in wrestling. When he was Ted Debiase's valet. How long did that last, 2 or 3 years? He did zilch since then, and was lucky to have gotten paid in WCW. He did nothing. He rarely wrestled anybody, probably because he was awful at it.

If it weren't for so many wrestler deaths, he'd be about 50th on my most well known wrestler of 80's/90's list. Perhaps hardcore wrestling fans appreciate him, but for the casual fans, he's an afterthought. Especially so in a NYC subway where probably 80% of the riders don't recognize him from the other panhandlers. Add to the fact that he's conniving, and not all that friendly.

Not remembered enough to charge for photos the way he does, or how he does it.

I have to agree Kris - him turning on Dibiase in 1991 was one of the highlights that year!!
Hell I even was excited for his WWE return in 2010!

Evidently a film producer caught Virgil in the subway and offered him a role in an indy film. Here is the film's preview and Virgil is in it.

Hah it says something if we are still talking about this a year on. I personally didn't care for Virgil as a character, but I am more new-school than old-school.
From what I have heard and the fact that people use the term "Virgil-ised", he needs cash and sells himself everywhere.

Ah yes, I was clobbered for calling Virgil a flash in the pan (HE WAS), although those posts seem to be gone.

Re: WWE Wrestling Underground (I found Virgil in the Subway)
Virgil wasn't ever really good or that memorable (Except that one moment with Ted) but he was big time in the wrestling industry from like 1986 (?) to 2000. That's 14 years in the big time receiving TV time and probably an okay pay cheque.
