Derek Jeter retiring after 2014 season

What is everyone's opinion on this? Jeter is getting up there in age & I'm sure he has more then enough money to live off of, I'm just happt he is going out a Yankee.

Sad to see him go, but the time is right. I just hope his body can hold out and allow him to go out on a good note.

All that hardware in the foot/ankle is really not something you can play on. I'll honestly be surprised if he can play all year on it. On the subject, I did get "rookie" Jeter at the fan fest 18 years ago.

Cool Shot. Glad I got him last year when I did. Had no doubt in my mind this was his last year between injury, rest of the core4 leaving, and the restructured one year deal...sad day end of an era but it comes at the perfect time

Jetes will be missed but definitely time...this way we don't have to read about what the yanks will do after this season if jetes has a bad year ...we just have to start worrying about finding a new ss...free agent crop is thin...
