Was a little shocked today to hear Tony passed away today. I had the pleasure of meeting Tony several times and watched him play at Wrigley Field, a game where he went 5 for 5 and the Padres won 8-0 over the Cubs. I met Tony's wife Alicia and Tony Jr there and she went out of her way to get some stuff signed for me from Tony, I never even asked her or brought up autographs, after Tony came out she walked over and asked if I wanted anything signed, took over what I had and brought it back. A very classy move from a lady who's husband was hounded for autos. I also met Tony himself twice in Richmond VA where I got tons of memorabilia signed but I wasn't in to pics so I never got one with him.
R.I.P. to the greatest hitter I ever watched play and he was always true to the Padres and the city of San Diego. He was always so friendly and polite in my encounters.
