A Dolphin Liv's for Love on a One Tree Hill

Post by Greg2600 » July 21st, 2018, 4:17 pm

First up I wanted to finally get a photo with singer/actress Darlene Love, from the Lethal Weapon films. I’ve had bad luck with her before, because she normally doesn’t like to do it outdoors in the cold, and in the area she mostly performs around Christmas. This time, despite a trip to Brooklyn, it was quite warm. She agreed no problem this time!

Back in Manhattan, I also hit a spot for Ray Donovan series actors with the great Heel Orton, though turns out he needed most of them. Only one was fresh for me, actress Alyssa Diaz, who plays the luchadora and wife to Bunchy on the show. We then moved to the spot for Carey Mulligan, who was nice as can be, despite some older ladies who desired to speak to her for 10 minutes a piece.

Another brief fling to Brooklyn happened after a softball game, so I only had time for this really. It was an appearance by TNT Monster Vision’s Joe Bob Briggs, who also appeared in Casino. I missed the movie and Q&A and whatnot. I wasn’t too hopeful, but then I noticed him in the bar talking to fans. I went in, and after enduring a horrendous conversation, I finally had to step in, and ask for the photo so I could leave.

Last go at it for the week featured a primary want of actress Liv Tyler, from Empire Records, The Leftovers, and of course, Aerosmith music videos! I learned of a spot for her, but the timing was bad, and I didn’t go. I ventured to a usual madhouse, but she was pretty nice and stopped for a lot of people. From there, I joined a master at a spot I hoped to get a graph from Bill Pullman at. Bill no-showed, but I did get a beardless Daniel Davis from The Nanny, and Carolyn McCormack from Law & Order, as well as Tracy Letts of Homeland.

Speaking of The Nanny, I also went for Fran’s mom on the show, comic actress Renee Taylor. Despite her age, she is still going strong, and did the photo with great kindness. Along the way, I added a few One Tree Hill (my old guilty pleasure) names. Key star James Lafferty, and also ran Stephen Colletti appeared at a small event, and were very nice and did it on the way in.

Lastly, I made a long walk for Chinese star Donnie Yen, as I knew where people had been getting him. While I was there, I see NFL great Dan Marino, my favorite player of all-time, walking up with his wife. I grabbed the selfie of course! Unfortunately, Donnie and his family were out all night, and not wishing to miss my train, I left. Others got him about half an hour later. At the time, I didn’t think this was that bad, because they were supposed to be in town for a few more days. Donnie though flew out, for a film, while his family left on their own. Tough miss.
