Greg's CT Horror/Keystone Weekend

Post by Greg2600 » September 17th, 2018, 2:21 pm

I’ll just stick to the two cons of the weekend for me. On Saturday, I drove up to Danbury, CT, for the Connecticut HorrorFest, which I’ve been to a few times. They moved downtown into a small arena, which is definitely a better layout. I paid for a wristband and walked to the other end for the celebs. Pam Grier was just leaving on break, so I hit Courtney Gains first. Had him sign Memphis Belle, and we gossiped about his old cast mates which was funny. He said Eric Stoltz was wacky unless he got something to eat. Next I finally (having seen him at local cons forever) got Butch Patrick, from The Munsters. After that I waited for Pam, though a couple NYC graphers were there too, so we chatted. Pam returned, and away I went. She was very sweet, and even told me that Andrew Davis is working on a new film, that she could be part of. That was exciting to hear. Had her sign a Jackie Brown 8x10. I was literally inside for 25 minutes or less, and stopped at a local mall for some lunch, then drove south.

The next day, Lanza had tons of wants at Keystone, while I had just a few. Hopped in his car, and we flew down, parked, and walked in. The ticket price was a putrid $50 though. It was dead. Pure ghost town, for hours, and really never picked up. At one time, I wagered that 85% of the attendees were in line for The Office group op. That was maybe 75 people. If there were 100 in the building I’d be shocked. Anywho, I got Steve Whitmire on an old Muppets Take Manhattan childrens book from probably first grade. It’s kind of rough, but means a lot to me. He was super nice. Then got Richard Horvitz, from Summer School, who was very funny and nice to chat with. I also got a photo with voice actress Grey DeLisle of Scooby-Doo. Last but not least, split the pro op with Lanza for Joe Manganiello. We left around 1:30, stopped for cheese steaks, and flew home.

Cheese steaks in Philly are over rated. They cross into double digits (or push into double digits) and are nothing special.

I was planning on attending this just for the cast of the Office but had prior commitments.

I love the 'graphs! Good photo ops, too. Nicely done.
