These posts seem more like humble brags than actual remembrances of the dead person.

I think humble is an undeserved kindness! There is nothing humble about this brag thread.

Who brags about having Rosey?? Oo ya Class
Re: RIP Rosey 1970 - 2017
Maybe it's bragging but how many people change profile shots after a celeb is dead. It's pretty routine.

Hobby filled with bragging, not just you. Anyone using a hashtag on Instagram is bragging. I could argue posting it in general is bragging, but I won't go that far.

Exactly. Least fn admit it Steve
Re: RIP Rosey 1970 - 2017
The thing about this brag is, he didn't even throw in a token line about the guy who died, just a post that was 100% "Hey everybody - I got a photo with this guy before he died!"

Re: RIP Rosey 1970 - 2017
I used to do the same (up until quite recently)..throw up a pic with the celeb right after he or she died...I have decided not to do this anymore. Woodmo is right, we all are essentially bragging, but it is just disrespectful and tacky to post a the pic right after he died. I have come to the realization that it is a sad form of validation that one is seeking when someone says "look this guy just died..thankfully I have the photo with him...ha ha ha". I find it more acceptable when someone who actually knows the celebrity personally does this, as it it is done more in remembrance of the individual. I met Rosey at Wrestlemania 20 and he was very, very cool. However, I decided not make a post with the photo, and not to do this in the future either.

Where did I ever say it isn't bragging
I in fact stated that it is in fact bragging, and it's done by a lot.
