Generally speaking, there are 3 categories of entertainment guests when it comes to NYCC.
The first is the traditional paid guests just like Chiller, WW, etc. Everything is a guarantee as long as you pay money.
The second is the free signing guest where there are no guarantees. You may or may not get to them, and if you do you may or may not get a photo op. Outside of NYCC book signings are a good comparison to this category. For maximum success you basically have to play your cards right and in some cases break rules and/or be an asshole.
For instance last year I tagged with someone who is legally blind for a shot at getting Kevin Bacon on my Apollo 13 laserdisc. It was a shot because I tagged with him just to get face to face with Kevin Bacon and they were only allowing the posters they provided. I whipped out my laserdisc at the last minute and got it signed much to the dismay of the handlers. The guy I tagged with did the same thing to get his Friday the 13th DVD signed.
And the last category are those not doing a signing in any shape or form, like a panel or something similar. Again, you essentially have to make your own luck here. These are similar to street meets in terms of strategy and level of guarantee. Like street meets you also have to break rules and be an asshole. In some cases the event is way too big that it is worthless to even waste time on (again just like street meets).
Most likely, Hulk Hogan will be in the first category.
