AJLe wrote: February 8th, 2019, 11:38 am I don't get the psychopathic reaction some people have to being blocked. I'm not on FB, but if somebody blocked me on social media, it would probably be because I didn't like them, they didn't like me, or both, so why the hell would I WANT to follow them and see their stuff?

Being blocked is basically a neon sign saying "we're not friends, I don't care for you or what you say", so people need to just take the hint and move on with their lives.
Actually facebook blocks are a little more than what you describe. Since you don't use FB I'll try to explain it to you.

Let's say you and :lanza: are FB friends with :greg:

Now let's say you blocked Lanza. Now say you post some comments on Greg's page and you have a conversation with multiple people there.

Since you have Lanza on block, this conversation will be largely obstructed to Lanza. He will see other comments responding to "nothing" as he won't see your comments.

The same applies if you and Lanza are part of (let's say) a FB group dedicated to F13th. You can make posts there and he won't see them. Again he may see obstructed conversations.

So FB blocks do more than just prevent someone from contacting you or seeing your page.

On this forum blocks work different. If you blocked Lanza on markedout Lanza would still be able to see your posts, but HIS posts would be obstructed to you.

If I block somebody, I don't care if they are somehow inconvenienced reading conversations with common friends.

If somebody blocks me, I likely wouldn't care to see their comments in conversations with common friends.

Then again, AFAIK, there aren't many/any people that I know that go out of their way to block me, so I really don't have enough experience to care about this topic. You seem to care a lot, though...

Where do I showcase care? You simply asked something I explained it.

So you're saying you don't care at all about whether or not you're blocked on social media then?

I offered no opinion one way or the other  So no sure where you conclude what I'm saying regarding that.

Again, you inquired about blocks, I simply explained it.

Well, I said that you seem to care a lot about the topic of being banned on social media. You challenged my statement on that, so apparently everybody reading this can rest assured that Class316 does NOT "care a lot" about whether or not he is blocked on any social media platform.

My bad, Class - glad everybody can now feel free to block you if they wish, since you obviously do not "care a lot" about such things. Sorry to have misrepresented your views on the matter.

Sorry to bump this, but on a related topic - has anybody ever had somebody that you blocked, or in the case of this board, put on Ignore, STILL constantly replying to your posts, even though you literally never respond, and can't even see what's in that person's posts at all anymore? It seems kinda pointless - like standing at the end of somebody's driveway, "talking" to them all day while they're behind closed doors watching TV. They can't hear you, they won't answer you, so why keep yelling into the void?

Crazy's gonna crazy, I guess.
